In response to INDIA TODAY: (12 June 2012)
CONDOMS, DRUGS AND SECRET CONTRACTS, STORY OF WHY NITHYANANDA IS IN TROUBLE

BASIC EXCERPTS FROM THIS STORY ARE ADDRESSED HEREIN:
…Fresh charges of rape and confinement were leveled against him….was sent to jail for a day by local court… No fresh charges were made…Rao’s allegations are contained in the 2010 case, to which she has been hiding from summons…why she doesn’t go to police instead of media? Media pays for story, yes? The subject charges were filed by Suvarna TV, with absolutely no evidence against Swamiji. He remained on stage after asking this fellow to leave, which he refused and subject himself to verbal commands from ashramites, to which HE responded physically.

Also, Nithyananda was not arrested. Please note BBC report:
BBC
Senior police officer Anupam Agarwal told the BBC that Nithyananda had been taken into "protective custody" for questioning. He said there were also fears that the guru could be attacked by the public.
…who had gone into hiding…Nithyananda left the ashram after many threats were made against him; he contacted authorities and made arrangement to appear at the exact date and time that he came to court…why do you think Minister kept saying “in 2 days”? Media Quote: Coming under intense pressure from various quarters for action against Nithyananda's 'objectionable activities' at his ashram, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda had on Monday said he would be arrested in two days. Nithyananda made prior arrangement and kept his word.

…police were horrified to find a dump of condoms, in the corner of a compound….Ashram had plenty of notice if they needed to “clean up” anything.  Flooded by rowdies and ne’er-do-wells, everyone had opportunity to drop the crap they found… as stated by Nithyananda’s counsel C V Nagesh When the vandalism reached its peak, Nithyananda left the ashram and his devotees too were asked to pack up. However, there were reports that all the stuff in the ashram was being transported in several vehicles.
“When you say 20 vehicles were used to shift out things from the ashram, why will they leave behind some condoms, a small bottle of liquor and a small packet of ganja? What is the logic behind this,’’ said Nagesh.

…Chief Minister ordered the arrest of Nithyananda after several of his followers appeared on a private Kannada TV channel and accused the Godman of exploiting them… Arti Rao’s allegations are contained in the 2010 court action; she has refused service of summons to date; why wouldn’t she file police complaint instead of profiting by selling story to media? Anyway, the court is not buying her story in the 2010 case either.

Things went ouy of control when the followers of Nithyananda evicted the journalist of Kannada TV which aired Arti Rao’s interview and allegedly beat him up.  The journalist was not beat up by ashramites, as is evidenced on the full video made that day; Suvarna TV has only shown clips so as to hide this from public. The attack on Atmapraba, sending him to hospital for 100 stitches in the head, was no less than attempted murder. It was no accident that they chose him, as he just happens to be the one who was held hostage at beginning of scandal & extortion attempts; he just happens to be the complainant in the case against Lenin.  This is a very fishy story.

The attack on the media prompted several Kannada organizations to vandalize Nithyananda’s ashram The police registered an FIR against Nithyananda on the basis of a complaint lodged by the media. Police took 35 people, 15 of them ashramites; all ashramites were released; all rowdies had charges filed against them and only a few of them have made bail.  You have failed to print that the police also registered FIRs against the media bad guys.

Last year public mounted pressure on the government after it was revealed that Nithyananda has forced some of his followers to sign a non-disclosure agreement to experiment with tantric sex.  The agreement was to explain tantra, not tantric sex, as in U.S., every single interaction must be informed and kept above the table.  The U.S. volunteers, not knowing what tantra is, were provided with above-the-table documents and clear explanations so that nobody was uninformed. The tantra was not specific to sex.

PLEASE NOTE SOME INTERESTING FACTS FROM OTHER SIDE OF STORY:

THE HINDU:

In Bangalore, Vishwa Hindu Parishad Bangalore unit president Vijay Kumar Reddy alleged that there was a conspiracy behind allegations of sexual harassment against Nithyananda and said unseen hands were working against him. He, however, failed to answer a number of queries posed to him on the activities of Nithyananda.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka High Court on Wednesday asked the State government to file its response, without being guided by media reports, to petitions filed by Nithyananda seeking quashing of the First Information Report registered against him in connection with the incident that occurred at his ashram in Bidadi.
Justice Subash B. Adi made these oral observations during hearing of the petitions when the prosecution sought time to file its response to Nithyananda's petition. Further, hearing on the petition has been adjourned till Friday.
The Kamraj National Congress has urged Karnataka Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda to review the government's action against Nithyananda.
In a press release, party president M.S. Rajendran has questioned the government's right to indulge in such acts and has said that human rights groups will not tolerate the manner in which the inmates of the ashram were driven out.
BANGALORE MIRROR:
“Under what provisions of law did the chief minister order the arrest of Nithyananda and closure of his ashram at Bidadi? The charges that have been slapped against Nithyananda and the ongoing cases are all bailable. There are many people with similar charges facing trial. So, will the CM order their arrests too? Why is the government not acting on Nithyananda’s complaint of molestation of lady devotees?” Nagesh questioned.

“The chief minister has to justify his actions. The IO is the final authority and by asking the administration to arrest Nithyananda or ordering the closure of his ashram, it looks like the chief minister is trying pressure tactics on the IO. Allow the court to make its decision,’’ Nagesh said.

On Tuesday, a hearing was held where the judge told the public prosecutor that “each and every action taken against Nithyananda has to be justified.’’ “Don’t go by the media reports. You investigate and submit a report,’’ the court said.

  1. First this is a very big state issue ! I invite somebody to my place and they create violence ,then the police comes but does nothing to save people hurt or catch the people harming .what sort of security do I have in this state with this sort of govt which ties the hands of a police ?I walk on roads of banglore talking telugu , rowdies hit me and police watch because i talk telugu not kannada ? If police force is not enough they should seek centre support.
